FreePBX (Pain Edition)
Since I started hosting my server, I've had the opportunity to try out FreePBX alongside some of my friends. It's a pretty good system for those that just want a way to ring phones on a network and pen-ultimately wish they never did. I also started to port-forward the instance with Tailscale to my friends so that they can get in on the fun of having a PBX. The only issue? Well, using FreePBX with more than one person on the line tends to make my network adapter crash, which kills the server for about 5 minutes at a time. Why is this so? Well, I route all of my server's traffic through a TP-Link WA850RE, a very popular WiFi extender that I personally bought about a year or so ago. For the most part, it works, but it has it's issues. Since the adapter can only do up to 300mbps, this has resulted in a lot of throttling taking place, with FreePBX taking up a LOT of bandwidth while people are using it.
